Drone Attack Sparks Fire Near UAE Nuclear Plant

A drone attack triggered an electrical generator fire near the Barakah nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The incident took place outside the plant's inner security perimeter in the Al Dafra region and, according to local authorities, resulted in no casualties or injuries.

The Federal Office for Nuclear Regulation assured that radiological safety had not been compromised and that all critical systems at the plant were operating normally. Authorities have not yet identified those responsible for the attack.

The UAE has faced heightened security tensions in recent months amid the conflict involving Israel, the US and Iran. The country has seen a number of missile and drone attacks which, according to Emirati officials, have mainly targeted energy facilities and strategic infrastructure.
