NATO Downs Drone Over Estonia

A NATO aircraft shot down a drone of apparent Ukrainian origin in Estonian airspace on Tuesday, Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur told news outlet Delfi. The incident marks the latest in a series of airspace violations near Russia’s borders.

Since March, several Ukrainian military drones have strayed into the airspace of NATO member states, including Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, all of which border Russia.

The Latvian government resigned last week following criticism over its handling of similar incursions.

NATO did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
