Russia Considers Joint Projects With US and China

Russia is weighing possible joint projects with the United States and China, state media quoted Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), as saying on Wednesday.

Dmitriev, President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy and a key figure in talks between Moscow and Washington, said the fund was examining “certain projects, including those involving both China and the US”.

The remarks came as Putin was due to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Wednesday, days after Xi held talks with US President Donald Trump.

Dmitriev did not specify which projects were under consideration. The comments nevertheless signaled Moscow’s continued efforts to pursue economic and investment partnerships despite strained relations with the West.
