Erdogan: Israeli Actions Threaten Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned on Wednesday that Israeli military actions in Syria and Lebanon have reached a level that threatens Turkey’s security.

Speaking to lawmakers in parliament, Erdogan said Israeli “aggression” now poses a danger not only to neighboring countries but to the wider region and the world.

He also accused Israel of pursuing initiatives aimed at destabilizing the eastern Mediterranean and warned that “no one should chase adventures” or join what he described as Israel’s “boat of mischief”.

Erdogan added that any actions infringing on the rights of Turkey or Turkish Cypriots would receive a clear and strong response.

Turkey has repeatedly criticized Israeli military operations in the region and has become one of the most vocal opponents of Israel’s policies since the outbreak of the Gaza war.
