Australia to Expand Drone Surveillance After Shark Attack
Australia's aviation regulator is to review restrictions on flying drones over Coogee Beach in New South Wales to allow lifeguards to monitor for sharks, following a serious attack on Saturday in which a woman was hospitalized.
Rescue crews were called to the beach in eastern Sydney on Saturday morning after a 35-year-old woman was bitten by a large shark approximately 30 meters offshore. The woman suffered serious injuries to her lower left leg and arms and was in a critical but stable condition at St Vincent's Hospital on Sunday, a spokesman told Reuters.
