Iran Nuclear Deal Draft Reveals Mutual Concessions

A draft framework agreement between the US and Iran signals a significant diplomatic shift after months of conflict. According to a source familiar with the negotiations, Iran would immediately open the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping, while the US would lift its naval blockade of Iranian ports.

Washington would also pledge not to impose new sanctions and would grant exemptions on Iranian oil exports for a limited period. The proposal includes the release of around $25 billion in frozen Iranian assets.

On the nuclear front, Tehran would confirm that it will not develop or acquire nuclear weapons and would halt both uranium enrichment and the expansion of nuclear facilities until a final deal is reached. The two sides would then negotiate for 60 days on the details of a final settlement, including the future of Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
