Tommy Robinson Detained at Heathrow on Return to Britain
British activist Tommy Robinson announced that police detained him at Heathrow Airport in London and confiscated his mobile phone. Robinson, known for his anti-Islam and anti-immigration views, said he was questioned for around three hours under Britain's Counter Terrorism and Border Security Act.
The detention came shortly after a wave of unrest in Northern Ireland, which Robinson had covered extensively on social media. The violence erupted following a brutal attack on a man in Belfast who lost an eye. In the days that followed, homes and businesses belonging to ethnic minorities and foreigners were targeted in rioting.
Local politicians accused right-wing activists of inciting and coordinating the riots online. Police confirmed the arrest of a man in his 40s on his return from Russia but did not officially release his name.
