Trump Sees Small Boost in Approval Rating

Support for US President Donald Trump has risen slightly to 36%, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, although it remains near the lowest level of his political career. The increase suggests that some voters have responded positively to lower fuel prices and a modest easing in cost-of-living pressures, two issues central to his administration's economic agenda.

Around a quarter of Americans now approve of Trump's handling of prices and inflation, up from previous weeks. However, the president continues to face the political consequences of persistent inflation, as recent economic data have shown little sign of a significant improvement. Pressure is also mounting on Republicans ahead of November's congressional elections.

The poll found that Democrats hold a slight advantage among registered voters and a wider lead among independent voters. Although Trump's approval rating has improved marginally, the data suggest his political position remains relatively fragile.
