Vance Hails Iran Engagement as “New Era”

US Vice-President JD Vance described the emerging agreement between the United States and Iran as the potential start of a “new era” in the Middle East.

In an interview with Fox News, Vance suggested that President Donald Trump could disclose details of the deal before its planned signing on Friday.

According to Vance, the agreement does not involve the transfer of US funds to Tehran. However, he said that if Iran meets its obligations, complies with conditions for sanctions relief and becomes more integrated into the global economy, it could attract investment from other countries.

Washington is also signaling a willingness to “fundamentally change” its relationship with Iran if Tehran abandons efforts to acquire nuclear weapons and ends its support for armed groups in the region.

The agreement is also expected to include the elimination of Iran’s stockpiles of highly enriched uranium under international supervision.

Vance claimed that communication between US and Iranian leaders is now more intense than ever. However, he warned that if Tehran violates its commitments, relations could quickly return to confrontation.
