Israel Views Space as the New Battlefield of the Future

Israel is significantly expanding its military ambitions in space and preparing its armed forces for future conflicts in which satellites, artificial intelligence and data processing will play a key role, according to The Jerusalem Post.

Yael Grosman, head of the Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) Technology and Digital Command, said that space is becoming a new battlefield and the military must be prepared to face growing threats, including attacks on satellites.

Israel is therefore investing in the development of satellite communications, high-capacity data transmission and new technologies for space operations.

According to her, experience from conflicts with Iran has confirmed the importance of satellites in managing long-range operations. During the wars, the military used tens of thousands of satellite images and an extensive data infrastructure to identify targets and coordinate attacks.

An important part of the modernization effort is also the expanded use of artificial intelligence, electronic warfare and drone defense. The goal is to create a unified system that will enable the Israeli armed forces to respond more quickly to future threats in space and on the battlefield.
