Poland Disrupts Alleged Pro-Russian Influence Network
The suspects attempted to recruit Ukrainian refugees to organize demonstrations against the government in Kyiv.
According to investigators, the individuals had direct ties to Russia and Belarus and had been carrying out activities in Poland since last fall.
The organizers sought to gradually infiltrate the Ukrainian community in Poland and use it to promote pro-Russian political messages. To inflame tensions and encourage protests, they exploited sensitive domestic political issues, including corruption allegations involving the government of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The ABW described the case as a clear example of a hybrid operation aimed at undermining public trust, fuelling social tensions and exploiting vulnerable refugees as instruments of Russian influence.
Poland has long accused Moscow and Minsk of conducting sabotage and disinformation campaigns, allegations the Kremlin has repeatedly denied. The Russian Embassy has not commented on the case.
