Ukrainian Drones Hit St Petersburg Oil Terminal

Ukrainian drones carried out a large nighttime attack on St Petersburg, Russia, and the neighboring Leningrad region, striking the city's oil terminal and the port in Vysotsk on the Gulf of Finland, according to local authorities.

St Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov described the operation as large-scale, saying it caused no casualties and that the damage had been fully repaired.

Alexander Drozdenko, head of the Leningrad region, said drones struck the port in Vysotsk, about 170 km northwest of St Petersburg. The port is used to transport oil, grain, coal and liquefied natural gas.

According to Drozdenko, air defenses shot down 72 drones over the region, while more than 30 additional drones were intercepted in the neighboring Pskov region. Authorities reported minor damage and injuries, including damage to a factory in the city of Velikiye Luki.

Meanwhile, Russia launched a drone attack on a gas production facility in Ukraine's Poltava region. According to the state-owned company Naftogaz, the strike caused a fire and forced operations to halt. Naftogaz said Russia is systematically attacking gas infrastructure in an effort to reduce domestic production and complicate Ukraine's preparations for the upcoming heating season.
