Russian Ambassador: Moscow Has No Plans to Attack Europe

Andrey Kelin, the Russian ambassador to the United Kingdom, said Moscow has no intention of attacking European countries, including the United Kingdom. In an interview with the Russian television station Vesti, he said that, in his view, Russia has "no plans, no reason" to wage war against European countries.

Kelin also claimed that any escalation could only occur at the initiative of the West. He described statements by Western officials about the Russian threat as an attempt to secure funding for the military-industrial complex.

He also said that, in his view, a significant portion of the funds allocated by the European Union and the United Kingdom to prepare for war with Russia, or to provide military aid to Ukraine, would be embezzled.

Western countries view Russia as a security threat, primarily due to the ongoing war against Ukraine.
