China Releases Christian Pastor After Trump Intervention

The Christian nongovernmental organization ChinaAid said Sunday that it welcomed the release of Pastor Jin Mingri, who had been held since last October in detention centers in the southern Chinese city of Beihai.

Jin has arrived in the US, ChinaAid said in a statement, adding that his release was confirmed by his daughter, Grace.

US President Donald Trump asked Chinese leader Xi Jinping to release the pastor during his visit to Beijing in May.
