Trump Declares US-Iran Truce Over

President Donald Trump said he considers the ceasefire between the US and Iran to be over and has no interest in pursuing further negotiations with Tehran, according to Sky News.

Speaking at the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump said additional talks would be "a waste of time", although he added that US negotiators remain available for diplomatic contacts.

His remarks came just hours after the US launched new airstrikes against Iranian targets. Washington said the strikes were retaliation for attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

On 17 June, however, the two countries signed a memorandum halting military attacks for 60 days to allow negotiations on a lasting peace agreement.
