Xpeng Issues Recall for X9 Electric Vehicles

Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng is recalling 33,473 X9 vehicles manufactured between 8 August 2023 and 11 August 2025 because of a safety risk, according to an announcement issued on Friday by China's market regulator.

The regulator said the front air springs in some of the affected vehicles could lose air pressure.

Prolonged use in hot and humid conditions may cause a gradual air leak, trigger a fault warning or, in extreme cases, affect the vehicle's handling.
