Germany Is Losing About 15,000 Jobs a Month
Tanja Gönner, CEO of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), warned that the situation in German industry is critical, according to the DPA news agency.
At the same time, however, she stressed that Germany still has a chance to restore its competitiveness if it supports innovation and investment in modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence.
According to Gönner, all political decisions in Germany and Europe should be evaluated based on whether they enhance the competitiveness of companies.
In addition to domestic problems, industry is also facing growing pressure from abroad, including US tariff policies and China's growing industrial dominance.
She believes that the combination of internal weaknesses and geopolitical factors is creating exceptionally challenging conditions for German companies.
