Farage Calls for Green Co-Leader's Arrest over Guillotine Post

Nigel Farage, leader of Britain's Reform UK party, called for the arrest of Green Party co-leader Zack Polanski after Polanski shared an Instagram photo from a Green Party event in Bristol. According to The National, the image showed a man wearing a T-shirt featuring a guillotine alongside the caption: “We only make plans for Nigel”.

Farage said the post amounted to incitement to violence and confirmed that Reform UK had reported the incident to police. Polanski subsequently deleted the post following a wave of criticism. A Green Party spokesperson said the party does not support calls for violence and that Polanski had shared the image without immediately noticing the slogan on the T-shirt.

The incident prompted a strong backlash from politicians and right-wing activists, including Tommy Robinson and Reform UK chairman Zia Yusuf. Both referenced the recent murder of former Conservative minister Ann Widdecombe.

Yusuf described the publication of the guillotine image just two weeks after Widdecombe's death as “shocking” and “irresponsible”.
