Moscow Condemns Ukrainian Strike on Iranian Ship
The Kremlin said on Tuesday that a recent Ukrainian strike on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea should be regarded as a direct attack on Iran. The incident, which took place late last week, killed one sailor and injured another in an explosion. Iran's Foreign Ministry also condemned the attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Kyiv had targeted vessels used to transport military equipment linked to Iran.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused Ukraine of expanding the geographic scope of what he described as its "terrorist activities". He compared the strike to the Nord Stream pipeline explosions and attacks on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) infrastructure, saying the threat posed by Kyiv must be "neutralized and eliminated".
