Trump and Zelensky Discuss Patriots and Peace Talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met US President Donald Trump in Washington on Tuesday to discuss reviving peace talks with Russia and plans for Ukraine to produce Patriot missile interceptors.

The two leaders met privately in the Oval Office before attending the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham, one of Ukraine’s most prominent supporters in Washington.

Zelensky later met representatives of defense contractor Lockheed Martin and said teams were working on solutions “to move to co-production as quickly as possible”.

He also held talks with US senators and welcomed progress on a bipartisan sanctions package targeting Russia’s energy sector.

Meanwhile, US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have agreed to make their first visit to Ukraine as part of efforts to revive mediation with Russia, although no date has been set.
