EU Startups Get Faster Access to Research Labs

The European Commission adopted a new voluntary charter on Wednesday aimed at giving startups and small and medium-sized enterprises faster access to Europe's advanced research laboratories and pilot facilities, Euronews reported.

The initiative is designed to help companies develop and test innovative products more efficiently, significantly cutting the time needed to bring them to market.

Ekaterina Zaharieva, European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, said the charter marked an important step in strengthening the EU's global competitiveness against the US and China. The new framework sets out six key principles, including greater transparency on services and pricing, standardized contracts, secure management of intellectual property and tailored support for smaller firms.

The charter, which research institutions can join online, forms part of the EU's wider strategy to support the growth of technology companies.
