Drone Hits Gas Tanker at Egypt Port
A drone struck a US-owned floating gas storage tanker at Egypt's Mediterranean port of Damietta on Wednesday, triggering a fire, maritime security firm Ambrey said.
Inchcape, which provides services at the port, said the blaze spread to two gas tankers.
Three industry sources familiar with the incident told Reuters that the drone struck the floating storage tanker Energos Winter before the fire spread to the vessel GasLog Salem. Two security sources also said the explosion was caused by a drone attack.
The crews of both vessels were evacuated and the fire was brought under control. No party has claimed responsibility for the attack.
