US Tests New Electronic Warfare System

The US military has successfully tested a new electronic warfare system called Hammer of the Gods, designed to jam the navigation signals used by an adversary's precision-guided weapons, Fox News reported.

The naval version was first deployed in mid-July during the Project Convergence Capstone 6 exercise off the US West Coast. The system disrupts positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) signals, including GPS, reducing the accuracy of guided missiles, artillery shells and rockets.

It also creates a resilient communications network that allows US forces to maintain contact even in heavily jammed environments.

The Army, Navy, Space Force and other branches of the US armed forces took part in the testing. The aim is to improve the integration of space, cyber and conventional military capabilities in future operations.
