Russian Missile Strike Kills at Least Three in Kyiv
At least three people were killed in a Russian missile attack on Kyiv on Saturday, and several others remained trapped in a partially collapsed building, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. He added that several warehouses in the Ukrainian capital were also on fire.
Reuters witnesses reported hearing more than 10 explosions in Kyiv.
Klitschko wrote on Telegram that, according to preliminary information, three people had been killed in the capital and five Kyiv residents had been injured, adding that emergency responders had hospitalized all of the injured.
Russia has intensified its attacks on Kyiv in recent months, while Ukraine has long suffered from a shortage of air defense systems capable of shooting down ballistic missiles traveling at several times the speed of sound.
