Unknown Projectile Strikes Another Tanker Off Oman's Coast

A tanker traveling roughly 11 nautical miles northeast of Lima, Oman, was struck by an unknown projectile on Saturday, damaging its engine room and leaving it unable to maneuver, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported.

It added that there were no reported casualties nor environmental impact during the incident.

Lima is located on Oman's Musandam Peninsula at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway that serves as the gateway from the Persian Gulf to the Indian Ocean.
