US President Donald Trump accused Iran's leadership of sending contradictory signals over possible peace talks. He said Iranian officials had privately sought negotiations to end the conflict while publicly insisting that no talks were taking place.

Trump therefore called them “incredibly two-faced”. In a post on Truth Social, he also stated that nothing would reach Iran without US approval and that this stance would not change unless an agreement was reached or Iran agreed to “complete surrender”.
