Spain Probes Suspected Jihadists Among Ceuta Migrants

Spanish security services have reportedly identified around a dozen people previously investigated for jihadism-related offenses among migrants who entered Ceuta during last week’s mass arrivals, Euronews reported, citing El Español and The Objective.

According to those reports, National Police and Civil Guard intelligence officers analyzed surveillance footage and identified people who had been arrested, convicted and deported to Morocco for offenses linked to jihadist terrorism.

The Spanish National Police union said separately that around ten people previously expelled to Morocco over suspected jihadist links had been detected among the arrivals. Officers were working to locate and arrest them.

The union rejected claims that the situation in Ceuta had returned to normal, describing it as serious. The reports have not been officially confirmed, and Spanish authorities have not commented publicly.
