Hamas Calls for Attacks on Pro-Israel Militias

Hamas has called on Palestinians to attack senior leaders of armed groups in the Gaza Strip that it claims are collaborating with Israel, according to the Jerusalem Post.

In a statement issued by its security unit, Rada Force, the organization described the elimination of these militia leaders as a way to end their activities, while also offering amnesty to members who lay down their arms and return to Palestinian society.

The call comes after the announcement of a plan for the second phase of the ceasefire, under which Hamas declared its willingness to hand over its heavy weapons to the Palestinian technocratic administration.

The agreement also calls for the disbandment of anti-Hamas militias supported by Israel. According to Palestinian sources, however, Hamas continues to view these groups as a threat to its power and is trying to prevent them from growing stronger.
