Russia Hits Odesa Port, Ukraine Strikes Belgorod

Russia and Ukraine again exchanged large-scale drone attacks overnight on Sunday. Russian shelling damaged the port of Odesa and, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, injured eight people.

At the same time, two oil refineries in the northeastern Sumy region were hit, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The information could not be independently verified.

Zelensky described the attack on Odesa as an attack on global food security, as the ports there are a key route for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.

Meanwhile, Ukraine launched a drone attack on Russia's Belgorod region. Local authorities reported that three people were killed and another 25 were injured. The attack caused fires in two residential buildings and damaged several other residential and non-residential structures.

The Russian ministry of defense stated that air defenses shot down more than 150 Ukrainian drones overnight over the European part of Russia, Crimea, the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Debris from the drones also fell in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk and in the city of Ufa in Bashkortostan, where it damaged a building under construction and a crane.
