Russia Reports Strikes on Ukrainian Logistics Hubs

According to Ukrainian authorities, overnight Russian strikes hit Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia, killing six people and injuring 20 others in the southeastern city. Fires also broke out in the Ukrainian capital. Both Russia and Ukraine deny deliberately targeting civilians.

Russia's Defense Ministry said its forces targeted transportation and logistics facilities supporting Ukraine's military.

According to the ministry, one target in Kyiv was a Nova Poshta sorting center allegedly used to store and distribute dual-use goods, including components for medium- and long-range drones, robotic systems, and electronic warfare equipment.

The ministry also claimed to have struck the Kyiv-3 transportation and logistics center, where it said attack drones, ground control stations and related equipment were being stored.

In Zaporizhzhia, Russia said it targeted the Zaporizhstal steel plant, claiming its steel is used for military purposes, including protective structures and armored vehicles.

The Russian Defense Ministry also said its air defenses intercepted or destroyed 396 Ukrainian drones over 15 regions overnight.
