Ferry Capsizes in Zimbabwe, Killing at Least 44

At least 44 people died when a passenger ferry capsized in Zimbabwe on Tuesday. Police have revised the death toll upward several times as additional bodies were found.

Investigators believe the boat overturned on Lake Kariba due to overloading during strong winds. Although designed to carry 90 passengers, police say more than 120 may have been on board.

Rescuers have saved 67 people so far. They were taken to an elementary school, where they received medical care.

Lake Kariba lies on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia.
