Russia Claims It Is Open to New Ukraine Peace Proposals
Russia is prepared to consider new proposals for ending the war in Ukraine, but says they must reflect “the realities on the ground”.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told News.ru that the US had shown a willingness to engage in “constructive dialogue” and an “understanding of Russia’s position”.
Moscow, however, considers Washington’s ability to influence decisions in Kyiv and among its European partners crucial. Ryabkov accused them of still hoping for Russia’s “strategic defeat”.
Ryabkov did not specify what new proposals Moscow would consider acceptable or what a future agreement should include.
