Italian Defense Giant Sets Up Ukraine Subsidiary
Italian defense giant Leonardo has established a subsidiary in Ukraine, strengthening its presence in the country’s defense industry. Leonardo Ukraine has been registered in the country since 20 May, but the group did not disclose its existence until its financial report for the first half of 2026.
The company will work on communications and navigation systems, software, IT, electronics and optical technologies.
Cooperation with Ukraine’s defense technology sector, including drone and missile manufacturers, is expected.
Leonardo also plans to test the first component of its new Michelangelo Dome integrated defense architecture in Ukraine. The system is designed to bring together different sensors and weapons, artificial intelligence, command-and-control technology and cyber defense.
