Poland Arrests Man Over Calls to Kill Politicians

Polish police have arrested a 23-year-old man from Lublin Province who allegedly called online for the killing of senior politicians. The Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime discovered the post in an online group dedicated to firearms.

The man allegedly called for the "elimination" of several people and proposed organizing an assassination attempt against prominent Polish officials. Authorities have not disclosed the names of those allegedly targeted or provided further details about the case.

Prosecutors have brought several serious charges against the man, including publicly inciting a crime and offenses related to preparing crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes and acts creating conditions for genocide.

A court ordered the 23-year-old to be held in custody for 30 days. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison, according to authorities.
