Belarus to Close Embassy in Finland

Belarus will close its embassy in Finland on 1 September following a decision by the Belarusian government. Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs confirmed that Minsk had notified it of the planned closure.

Helsinki is awaiting further details on how Belarus intends to maintain diplomatic representation in Finland. It remains unclear whether the embassy’s responsibilities will be transferred to a Belarusian mission in another country.

The Belarusian Embassy in Helsinki did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The government has not publicly given a reason for the closure.
