Turkey Seeks Interpol Red Notice for Netanyahu
Turkish Justice Minister Akin Gurlek announced that Ankara has asked Interpol to issue red notice for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Afek Moskovich, according to Turkey's Anadolu Agency (AA).
The move relates to an ongoing criminal prosecution in an Istanbul court concerning an armed intervention against the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was transporting humanitarian aid to Gaza in international waters.
A Turkish court issued arrest warrants for both suspects on 14 July 2026. The ministry of justice subsequently forwarded the documents to the ministries of the interior and foreign affairs to facilitate an international manhunt.
The indictment lists serious criminal offenses, including genocide, crimes against humanity, kidnapping, torture, deprivation of personal liberty and armed attacks on civilians. Gurlek emphasized that Turkey will use all domestic and international legal means to prevent impunity for acts committed in connection with the blockade and the events in Gaza.
