Russian Drones Kill 14 in Zelensky’s Hometown

Two Russian drones struck a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraine on Friday, killing at least 14 people and injuring more than 120 in President Volodymyr Zelensky’s hometown.

Regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said 22 children were among the wounded. Twenty-nine people were in serious condition, including five children.

Zelensky described the attack as “absolutely cynical and despicable”. He said the second drone struck the shopping center about half an hour after the first in a deliberate attempt to target emergency services. Zelensky called such attacks terrorist acts and urged the international community to hold Russia accountable.

Ukraine has also stepped up its attacks on Russia, targeting oil facilities and logistics infrastructure in an effort to undermine Moscow’s ability to wage war.
