Pakistani Army Chief to Visit Iran as Part of Peace Talks
Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir will visit Tehran on Monday, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Sunday, according to a statement released by the ministry on Telegram.
The visit is a continuation of Pakistan's efforts to strengthen peace and security in the region, Baghaei said. The ministry did not provide further details about the agenda or the officials Munir will meet with in the Iranian capital.
Pakistan is acting as a mediator in negotiations between Iran and the United States aimed at ending the war between the two countries.
Munir's trip to Tehran comes amid diplomatic efforts by Islamabad to help de-escalate the conflict and strengthen regional security.
