Sixteen Injured as German School Coach Crashes in Netherlands
A coach carrying high-school students from Germany crashed near the town of Wezep in the eastern Netherlands early on Monday, injuring 16 people who were taken to hospital, Dutch police said.
Eight people were seriously injured and eight sustained minor injuries, the Gelderland provincial police said.
More than 50 people were traveling on the coach, which was registered in Austria, according to a police spokesperson.
The crash occurred at around 4 a.m., about 100 km east of Amsterdam, when the coach collided with a delivery van. The van’s driver was among those injured.
The A28 highway was closed in both directions following the crash.
