At Least 15 Newborns Killed in Islamabad Hospital Fire

At least 15 newborns were killed in a fire at a state-run hospital in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, after a fault in the air-conditioning system, local broadcaster Geo TV reported on Wednesday.

The fire broke out at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, where emergency crews continued cooling operations.

There were 16 newborns in the hospital’s gynecology ward when the fire started. One was rescued, according to Geo TV.
