Pornhub deal: Million-dollar fine for abuse material

The operators of Pornhub.com and other pornographic websites have reached an agreement with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the state of Utah after being accused of deceiving users by failing to adequately address videos and photos depicting child sexual abuse and non-consensual material, the agency announced on Wednesday.

"As part of a proposed settlement to resolve the allegations, the operators of Pornhub—the company Aylo and its affiliated companies (collectively, Aylo) – must implement a program to prevent the distribution of CSAM (child sexual abuse material) and NCM (non-consensual material) on their platforms and pay a $5 million fine to the state of Utah," the FTC said in a statement.
