Ukraine rejected Putin's proposal for a meeting in Moscow as unacceptable
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha rejected Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to meet with Zelensky in Moscow as “unacceptable.”
Putin had invited the Ukrainian president to a meeting during a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday.
Sybiha pointed out that at least seven countries were willing to organize a summit between Ukraine and Russia, including Austria, the Vatican, Switzerland, Turkey, and three Persian Gulf states.
“These are serious proposals, and President Zelensky is ready for such a meeting at any time. However, Putin continues to confuse everyone by deliberately making unacceptable proposals,” he added.
The Ukrainian side insists that negotiations must take place on neutral ground and within the framework of internationally recognized initiatives.
