European heads of state and government visit Trump. They will negotiate individually on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump has announced that several European heads of state and government will travel to the United States this week—on Monday or Tuesday—to negotiate individually on ways to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Trump said he also plans to have a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future.
Although the names of the leaders were not disclosed and the White House did not provide any details, the talks are expected to follow up on current discussions in Europe about security guarantees for Kyiv and a possible new package of sanctions against Russia.

Trump expressed frustration with the state of the conflict, particularly after Russia's massive air strike on a government building in Kyiv over the weekend, but reiterated his belief that peace is within reach.
“We will resolve the situation. I am confident that we will succeed,” he told reporters.

In connection with the latest European initiatives, the Trump administration's EU delegation should have already announced the preparation of further sanctions and security measures—according to information from Reuters, this delegation on the EU side should be led by Ursula von der Leyen.
