Trump gives Hamas final warning, wants agreement on Gaza

US President Donald Trump has announced that he has given Hamas a “final warning” regarding the acceptance of an agreement that would mean the release of all hostages in Gaza and thus also the end of the war.

Trump stated that Israel had already accepted his terms and called on Hamas to do the same, without however revealing further details of the agreement.

According to media reports, the draft agreement provides for the one-time release of all 48 Israeli hostages on the first day of the ceasefire in exchange for thousands of Palestinian prisoners in Israel.
During the ceasefire, further negotiations on ending the war would take place; the Israeli army would cease its operations in Gaza and remain outside Gaza during the talks.

Hamas confirmed that it had received “new proposals” from the US via mediators and was ready to negotiate the terms of an agreement to release the hostages in exchange for a “clear declaration on ending the war” and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip.

According to several sources, Israel is “seriously considering” Trump's proposal, although some analysts believe that Hamas will continue to hesitate.

The results of the negotiations are expected in the coming days.
