According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, more than 20 civilians were killed in a Russian air strike on the village of Yarova in the Donetsk region.

The attack reportedly hit people who were collecting their pensions.

Footage released by Zelensky showed bodies lying among the rubble. Another 21 people were injured.

The president called on Ukraine's allies to increase pressure on Moscow. Diplomatic efforts to end the war, which has been going on for three and a half years, are not progressing.

“The world must not remain silent. The world must not remain inactive,” Zelensky warned. The Kremlin has not yet commented.

Since the invasion began in February 2022, Russia has denied attacking civilians. Nevertheless, tens of thousands have been killed since then.

Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinez described the attack as further evidence of systematic terror against the civilian population.
