Grossi and Arakchi agree on concrete steps for inspections in Iran

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has announced progress in talks with Iran on resuming nuclear inspections.

After a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi in Cairo on Tuesday, Grossi said that concrete measures had been agreed upon that would lead to the full return of inspectors to the country.

According to Grossi, this is an “important step in the right direction,” referring to a possible easing of tensions between Tehran and the West in the sensitive area of nuclear monitoring.
