Kallasová: The situation in Europe is reminiscent of 1938; we must not repeat the mistakes of the past.
EU Foreign Affairs Representative Kaia Kallas compared the current situation in Europe to 1938, when Czechoslovakia unsuccessfully sought help against Nazi Germany. In her opinion, if Ukraine falls, the whole of Europe will be at risk, reports the Unian agency.
She stressed that the West must learn from history and not abandon Ukraine to its fate. Kallas also warned against negotiating territorial concessions with Russia, which she considers a dangerous trap.
In her opinion, the Kremlin is using familiar tactics: first, it demands what has never belonged to it, then it exerts pressure and finally achieves concessions that it could only have dreamed of before.
In the interview, she also announced that the EU is already preparing the 19th package of sanctions against Russia, which she believes has lost $450 million as a result of the sanctions. She added that the Union has several creative solutions on the table to further increase pressure on the Kremlin.
