Shooter on Kirk is uncooperative, but his transgender partner is helpful

The suspect in the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk is not cooperating with authorities. However, investigators are talking to the family and friends of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who is expected to be formally charged on Tuesday.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox said Robinson's roommate and partner is “extremely cooperative.” Cox described the person as “a man who is transitioning to a woman.”

When asked if the roommate's gender identity was relevant to the investigation, Cox said, “That's exactly what we're trying to find out right now.”

Investigators found references to internet memes and video game jokes engraved on shell casings at the scene. One of them read: “Hey fascist! CATCH!” — followed by a combination of directional arrows, apparently a reference to a key combination that detonates a bomb in a popular video game.

Kirk, a well-known critic of progressive movements and the transgender agenda, was shot during an appearance at a university in Utah.

Mike Johnson, Republican spokesman for the US House of Representatives, called for moderation in rhetoric on Sunday. “We must not portray simple political differences as an existential threat to our democracy,” he said.
