The FBI announced that DNA evidence directly links the prime suspect in the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk to the crime scene.
According to Fox News, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that the DNA of the arrested Tyler Robinson was found on two key items—a screwdriver and a towel in which the firearm was wrapped. These were found in a wooded area near the university where the attack took place.
According to police, the 22-year-old suspect jumped off the roof after the shooting, fled through the woods and left the weapon there. He is currently in custody in Utah under special supervision.
On Sunday, the state's governor, Spencer Cox, confirmed that the alleged shooter is refusing to cooperate. However, the roommate and partner of the arrested suspect is “extremely cooperative.” He described him as “a man undergoing gender reassignment surgery to become a woman.”
When asked whether the roommate's gender identity was relevant to the investigation, Cox replied, “That's what we're trying to find out.”
Investigators found references to internet memes and video game jokes engraved on the shell casings at the scene. One of them reads: “Hey fascist! CHYŤ!”, followed by a combination of directional arrows, which is an obvious reference to the button sequence used to detonate a bomb in a popular video game.
