EU will soon adopt 19th package of sanctions against Russia, says Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the imminent adoption of the 19th EU sanctions package against Russia. According to him, the package takes into account several Ukrainian proposals and also includes measures against the so-called shadow fleet and cryptocurrency systems that Russia uses to circumvent sanctions.
“This week, we have moved closer to finalizing the 19th sanctions package—we expect it to be adopted soon. Russia's energy resources will be restricted,” Zelensky wrote.
Kyiv plans to implement this package quickly and expects further steps from the US as well. Zelensky pointed to Russia's systematic attempts to destabilize the region, including the recent incidents in Poland and Estonia.
He emphasized the need for a joint, coordinated response to these attempts at interference and destabilization. He thanked all countries that are helping Ukraine.
